Baking Secret - The BEST Looking Cookies On The Block!

I recently found out a secret.  I LOVE this secret.  I am a lover of baking.  Bread, cookies, cakes....anything.  One thing that has always had me guessing was how to re-create those AMAZING looking cookies on the cover of the magazines.  How in the world do they get it to look so smooth, so perfectly put to the edge, so yummy.  Well, I found out how and even successfully accomplished it on my first try.  So can you.  Here is the recipe to have the BEST looking holiday cookies around.  Yes, I know it's not a competition, but still........

Cookie Glazed Icing Recipe:
1 lb powdered sugar (about 3 3/4 cups)
6 Tablespoons whole milk
6 Tablespoons light corn syrup
1 teaspoon almond extract

Mix together until it creates a smooth consistency.
You can thicken it up with more powdered sugar or thin it out with more milk.
* Helpful hint - use a baby spoon to spread icing to the edge of the cookie *

In order to create a piped look - separate the icing recipe and thicken a portion of it with more powdered sugar.  I have found that if I separate the recipe in half I need about 3/4 of a cup more powdered sugar to get it to the right consistency not to run!

There you have it - no purchasing pricey cookies to display at your next party or give to family members!  The perfect looking sugar cookies for all these fantastic holidays coming up!  Happy Baking!
